On March 18, the North China region ushered in windy weather, which could easily cause a large range of mountain fire hazards and threaten the safety of power grid operation. State Grid Jibei EleCTric Power Co., Ltd. started the emergency response as soon as possible. Under the premise of protecting personnel during the epidemic, it arranged 2350 emergency personnel and 115 emergency vehicles to conduct special line inspections, focusing on “west to east transmission”. "Nordic Power South Supply" and other important transmission channels are specially patrolled and specially guarded, making full use of satellite, visualization, infrared and other technologies to discover and handle hidden fire hazards, which effectively guarantees the safety and unobstructed access to the Beijing Grand Passage.
State Grid Jibei Electric Power assumes 70% of Beijing's power supply responsibility. Its equipment involves the UHV, 500 kV "west to east power transmission" and "north to south power supply" large channels. Every spring, affected by windy weather, mountain fires occur in areas along the route, and some mountain fires pose a serious threat to the safe operation of power grid equipment. In order to eliminate hidden fire hazards and improve the overall level of safe operation of the power grid, State Grid Jibei Electric Power has adoPTed a series of powerful measures since 2019.
The company deploys 66 professional hillfire prevention inspection sites for transmission lines of 500 kV and above, 121 place inspection sites, and 706 linemen. Through a high-density prevention and control network, it can prevent and control hillfire risks to the greatest extent. At the same time, the company also strengthened early warning of wildfires and integrated access to satellite fire point data analysis to obtain early warning information. After receiving risk warnings, each operation and maintenance unit passed on-site verification and timely feedback to achieve closed-loop management of hillfire risk prevention and control.
Regarding the management of hidden fire hazards, State Grid Jibei Electric Power strengthened the basic data management of fire prevention, combed and determined 4446 key fire prevention sections of transmission lines above 500 kV, including 1927 important transmission channels. At the same time, clean up hidden fire hazards such as trees, straw, and thatch that are likely to cause mountain fires in key sectors, and complete the work to clear up the hidden fire hazards of UHV DC line passages. Up to now, 248 hidden fire hazards and 672.2 kilometers have been cleared. 802 sets of visualization devices have been deployed for key sections of hill fire prevention on 500 kV and above lines to improve the timeliness of the discovery of hidden fire hazards and gain time for hill fire disposal.
According to Wang Shuyuan, the transmission department of the equipment department of the State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd., the company has invested a lot of manpower and material resources in the prevention and treatment of wildfires for a long time, but the prevention of wildfires should not only be a passive response, but also take the initiative to attack from offline Hidden hazard management and fire source control have taken active measures to fundamentally eliminate wildfires around the line.
It is understood that in order to further reduce the hidden dangers of mountain fires, State Grid Jibei Electric Power has included the mass linemen in the local fire protection system at various levels, and has hired forest farm rangers as mass linemen to protect both the forest and the line to achieve information sharing and ensure mountain occurrence Obtain information immediately after the fire and take measures in a timely manner. At the same time, the company actively strengthened the publicity of fire prevention and protection of power facilities along the line, carried out key propaganda to the people in the surrounding villages and towns in mountainous areas and forest areas, raised the awareness of fire protection lines, and eliminated hidden dangers of fire around the lines.
